Teachings from my Big Screen TV

“Art may imitate life, but life imitates TV.” ~~ Ani Difranco

I love TV…I admit it…and I am not embarrassed at all…whether it’s mindless crap or an epic tragedy…I try to get something meaningful from the shows I watch…so I can justify the amount of time I spend on my TV indulgence…which is a lot…

For those who shun horrid amounts of TV watching…You can find great life lessons and much wisdom…you just have to open your mind and take a look……my lil grasshopper

Here are some of my favorites

The Golden Girls…with a few close friends, you can get through any life issue…it’s the quality vs the quantity…so pick your friends carefully….oh and bonus life lesson…Lock your doors…they never did…and that’s why their asses got robbed.

Monk…being too controlled or anal in what you do can limit what life has to offer…it’s great to be prepared and play it safe…but…it’s also okay to let go sometimes, take a leap of faith…and live…even if you have no idea where life is going to take you.

Roseanne…(the old episodes…NOT after the new Becky, then old Becky, then old new Becky…cause then it just got dumb)…you may not like your family, job, health or situation…  laughter can make everything so much better…that burst of happiness can help you…even if’s only for a moment.

Good Times…(before James Died…then it just got dumb)…you do not have to have everything in this world in order to live…happiness can be obtained even when have very little…Oh…and bonus life lesson…Oatmeal is a cheap way to get a good hearty breakfast (they had it like every freakin day)

King of Queens…hopefully as you get older…personality and who you are inside… will weigh more than physical appearance…people often say…Carrie would never be with Doug…but she loved HIM…all of him…and he loved her…Beauty may fade…but a wonderful and true character…will not

Snapped…Don’t push a woman too far…or she will kill yo ass…pretty self-explanatory

LockDown: America’s hardest prisons…even when you think you got it bad…some people have it a lot worse…even if it’s by their own doing…bonus life lesson…USE your brain…these dudes in here can make everything from crystal meth to wine made out of bread, fruit, sugar and a toilet….imagine what they could have done with the right guidance.

The Patty Duke Show…we all have two sides of ourselves…depending on the situation…you might show the side that helps you survive…and that’s okay

Modern Family…family is important…even if it doesn’t mean a traditional family…it’s whom you consider family…bonus life lesson…Learn how to smile…Lilly NEVER smiles and looks mean as hell…
